That makes sense now about the deviantArt user.
The banner space I'm wanting to fill is the homepage tab backgrounds for Features, Gallery, and Learning Resources. The overview/default one is already filled with a great one, but I'd like to see the other ones filled the same way.
Because I'm not pushing out high quality art like I'm seeing other users I'd like to feel out if we can source some of these other pieces on our site. I don't know the history with rebirthart who designed the default banner. But if something else is already in the pipeline for landing in those spots, that's fine too.

Actually that's not a typo. Look at the link, those images are from the Inkscape 'user' on deviantArt. They have a fravorites gallery that they add inkscape works to. So it's a curated gallery.
I'd like to add hi-res banners to the homepage, under Gallery and Learning Resources, possibly Features too.
Not sure what you mean. I'm going to add the permissions to edit these galleries to any editor.
Here's an artist who has produced some nice work, unless we have anything else is store to use? https://plus.google.com/photos/116667625425218014179/albums/5434709834735334...
I looked at google, their policy for excluding programmers from their APIs and making sure no data is available in a machine readable way makes it impossible to get data from there for now.
