Hi and thanks for your reply. I see your point. From what I can see the present problem with static linking is just the objectionable file size. And from previous comments of others, it is neither feasible nor necessary (given rsvg) for there to be a public Inkscape API. That doesn't mean that there can't be a private API shared as a SO/DLL between Inkscape and Inkview. IMHO that is the way to go forward given the current feedback.

P.S. Remember that most users do not follow inkscape-dev.....

You mean like we should be asking on the general inkscape users list before pulling inkview right?
