I think I'm going for something like: 
Icons designed by Andreas Nilsson, Jakub Steiner, Lapo Calamandrei, Jesús David Navarro and the designers behind the Tango and Tango ArtLibre icon libraries. 

And for a lasercutter you can always visit one of the Fablabs in the world, there are a lot:
