I just deleted my preferences file and restarted the latest bzr version of Inkscape. I see that the command bar (file/print/etc.) and snap bar are both vertical and on the right side.
Just noticed the exact same thing, after doing a fresh checkout of our repository. Is someone following up upon Tavmjong's report?
Yes...
many people like that, especially netbook users.
However I think I should tweak the "smart" parameter a bit. That's the one that determines if it should go to "wide" or not. Can you guys give me your screen ratios? width/height
My res is 1680x1050 (16:10), prefer that bar up top personally.
I'm also at 1680x1050, and prefer the command bar up the top (or hidden - I absolutely never use it; can I hide it?). As for the snap bar, I've got used to that on the right now and prefer it there, I think, as it balances the tool bar on the left.
1440 x 900 (MBP), defaults to 'View > Wide'
Personally I changed back to 'View > Default' (command bar at the top), out of habit (?) and because I don't like working with maximized windows (for windows not maximized but with custom proportions (user default template), adapting to 'wide-screen' seems kind of odd to me).
@ChrisMorgan - 'View > Show/Hide > Commands Bar' doesn't work for you?
