http://live.gnome.org/dconf Yeah, it looks like this will replace GConf in the future. Thanks for the information that it exists. But it looks like the GSettings API is what will be interesting, while dconf is an implementation detail. GConf can also implement GSettings. It's a pity that the file format will be binary though.

Regarding GConf on Windows, it doesn't work :( Maybe the new dconf + GSettings system will.
