No, there's not. I'm not really using librsvg, IconFactory is. I don't really know librsvg's API. When using librsvg directly, there may be an option or two; but we don't have access to that through IconFactory.
The node editing tool icon looks especially bad in my opinion.
Agreed. But it's all we've got till the codebases are merged and I can write a get_icon_pixbuf() function for the Inkscape::UI::Icons namespace. (Or until someone libraryifies Inkscape's renderer and creates a loader and an engine for gdk-pixbuf using that library. :)
