I would like to hear some feedback on whether the ZIP files are useful, since they take 47 MB of disk space each (47*3 = 141 MB daily!). And also I wanted to know if the "à la carte" directory was useful and if it would be worth reinstalling it...
Hi Daniel, I just brought down inkscape-0701161000.7z and am running it on Win2000. It opened up OK and appears to be working well.
I have found the .7z installer to be quite convenient and now do not use ZIP.
I found the "a la carte" directory useful for getting the inkscape.exe file whether zipped or not. I have never used any of the other bits and pieces. I use the .exe files to keep up to date and only bring down the full package occasionally when I really stuff things up. I would be quite happy for only the .exe part of the "a la carte" directory to be available.
