[Inkscape-devel] move objects to hidden layers

Hello,

in all of my inkscape versions it is not possible to copy an object to a hidden layer. To me that is a littlebit annoying, as when I shunt objects between layers in other vector drawing progs, I'm used to switch on the source layer and hide the target layer - so I've got control which objects are done already.

Is there a deeper meaning in this behaviour - or can anybody give me another strategy for shunting objects between layers - or shall I file it as a bug?
