Thanks, I've added the link to the bug.
They plan to remove that dependency again in the stable version, but the unstable version already requires C++14 features so we might need to adjust eventually (I don't know how glibmm's release cycles work).
From the bug report you listed, this change appears to have been unintentional, so once this is resolved we can probably stick with C++-11 until we're ready to consider moving to C++-14.
That said, you're right that C++-14 probably deserves a spot on our roadmap. Wondering if we could push that to post-1.0.
