*LPE: It appears that the coordinates are reversed/mirrored vertically for LPEs on canvas. Try Bend, it places the on-canvas path for bending at the opposite vertical position on-canvas (not on top of the object), it then bends in the opposite direction from what's expected.
*~suv also commented on irc (and I'm not sure if this is known since you commented on some snapping stuff): "I have also issues with snapping a selection of several nodes: each time snapping occurs, they move further apart, changing the geometry of the segments."
