[Inkscape-devel] support indexed pallete for exported PNGs?

Hi everybody!

I just thought - would it be possible to have a support to export indexed PNGs?

I just thought that it might be very useful for web design - for example, I have many icons/buttons/images that have not so many colours, and I use Inkscape to export them to PNG, and no other tool is used after that, I use the Inkscape.s resulting PNG on my pages.

In terms of UI, an "indexed colours" checkmark and colour number chooser could be added in the export dialogue.
