As mentioned before, the network infrastructure is serving 40TB a month from our live website. (That's the equivalent of 950,000 downloads of the windows installer per month) which is A LOT. (please don't use this as a statistic, the logs tell a more direct picture that's not that high.)
That are really impressive numbers! Anyway, doing nightly releases for a smaller audience sounds great. (And I love to try out the latest versions of programs.) Though I still believe doing daily or even weekly releases to the *full* audience of people is not necessary, especially not without a development infrastructure like the one described in the blog linked to by Christoffer.
Side note: Together with daily releases an easy update process should be set up. I.e. an option inside the program allowing you to check for and install updates automatically.
