Oh, but this will break a main intent we have.
Since the SVG spec does not allow for a multi-image resource in a standard way, we're implementing that ourselves in a work-around. RSVG not only does not support all the SVG aspects that Inkscape does, it definitely will not support a multi-image workaround.
That has been a main issue pushed by the icon authors out there, so will be a major setback.
