Example attached: original paths, marked nodes deleted in 0.47 and 0.48.0
Another test in 0.48: draw a rectangle, convert to path and delete one corner in the node tool: to me, the resulting curve is unexpectedly asymmetric.
Oops - for the second test, draw a _square_ (with 'Ctrl' pressed), not a _rectangle_.
And I made yet another mistake: in the previously attached file, I forgot to save in Inkscape 0.47 after deleting the one node in the lower row (see new attachment):
Seems that for some curves (lower row in the example), 0.47 produces the same approximation results as 0.48, but not for all (upper row)?
