Whooops, that looks strange indeed. Can you give precise steps to reproduce this? Did you do anything special? Or did you just do a simple drag as you would have done with the rectangle tool?
Maybe it is not working? I dont see any 3d like object, and looks like the rectangle tool is activated. (so if I drag something it has the rectangle tool cursor and I draw a recangle, but as soon as I finish drawing the rectangle disappear, and only the two handles rest on the canvas.)
Everything up to the point where the rectangle disappears is normal behaviour. The cursor is the same as for the rectangle tool (I haven't bothered to change it yet), and what you do while dragging is you create the front face of the 3D box. It looks like an undistorted rectangle because the states of all vanishing points are 'infinite'; try toggling them using the corresponding buttons in the 3D box toolbar, which show two parallel lines each. You can extrude the box by pressing Shift during dragging. (See my recent post in reply to Bill Baxter's questions or the first paragraph of

). Does it make a difference if you create an extruded box instead of only the front face?
