I'm not sure about this. This would mean that the monitor's pixels are not square.
Unfortunately, non-square pixels seem to be something that is becoming more common these days.
While my impression was that they become *less* common nowadays, they have certainly always existed and it definitely makes sense to take the resolution vector into account.
