Hy Brynn. I like more a new tool but ¿Is enought interesant to get some toolbox pixels?
There is a problem on open paths also in boolean operations, not only in potrace related code in eraser tool. If the proyect go on, we try to solve this open path problem.

However, improvements to Eraser would certainly be very welcomed :-) The biggest problem we see with the current Eraser tool, based on questions asked in forums /in my experience/ is when it's used on open paths, it closes the paths. (Users say "it adds more or new lines".) Although personally, on Windows 7, I can't make it erase open paths at all. I don't know if there are bug reports for that or not, but I guess there must be?

I try to explain the goal you dont undertand. Basicaly it works like:
1.- Put some guides over a item 2.- In the eraser toolbar there is a button cut-out from guides 3.- The selected item/s are cutted by the guides
¿Why use guides?
- Exact position/angle of cut-out
- Reposition of cut-out
- Position cut-out stored and locked, you can lock the guides to
avoid repositions
Maybe cut-out toolbar can have a option to make a item/s same place copy, giving some alpha and maybe locking it.
Could anyone put this goal, or put by me, and correct later?
Maybe is better "eraser tool" become to "cut tool" with a option to erase full objects.

Looks interesting! I just did some editing of the project description. I don't fully understand your last "goal" (We can...).
I also replaced '''Project X''' by ==Project X==. This makes it a bit easier to edit as each project is now in a separate section.
