We're not planning to do any work on per-object sensitivity, just keep it as it is in Sodi. Instead when we will have layers we will be able to switch sensitivity and visibility per layer, which is much more convenient. When this is done, we'll likely remove the sensitive/insensitive per-object stuff from the UI.
Hmm, I still think it'd be useful sometimes.
I think in the SPItem tree dialog it'd be a column with a little "lock" icon or similar.

I'd like to second this. Per-object sensitivity and visibility is as important as layer sensitivity and visibility. I also strongly agree with mental's suggestion to have an small icon to toggle these properties (for layers and other objects) in the object tree when it arrives. I may have mentioned this before on the list, but I figured I would again since it came up.
