[Inkscape-devel] Textbox with coloured background?

Hi everybody,

I searched lists etc., but didnt find an answer to a quite trivial question:

I need a text box with a coloured background. It should surround the text in a adjustable distance; the background should expand when more text is typed into the text box.

Sorry to bore you with such a stupid thing - cant belive this "feature" really is for the wishlist?
