I find it convenient also. However, there are times when I would like only the width to change and not the length as well. In the figure above, line A is a pattern stroke at width=1.00. B is what happens when width is changed to 10.00. I would like to get to C at times. Is this possible from A? I guess I can get it with specific svg coding but that is fiddly. I have seen that some programs do have individual settings for stroke width and stroke length.
A beginner learning Inkscape may intuitively feel that 'stroke width' means 'stroke width' rather than 'stroke width and length' or 'scale'. Trial and error teachs but we don't yet have this documented do we? Not a big deal.
