I think that option and any remaining associated code can be removed now.
And a more difficult question: will gtk provide us color managed printing whenever color management is implemented in Inkscape?
I would be surprised if it did, but it ought to be researched. If it doesn't (or it isn't clear), can you file a bug upstream with gtk about it?
