      Here's my stab at a complete set of icons, the style consistent with the
ones above (maybe something other than red for a fill though).

I think it helps to have "markers" that remind the user what "markers" are,
which is why I included two.
Visually, this is a bit easier to sort through than just the edge of the
line and a single marker, I think.

The idea to use item order to visualize paint order is nice, but
it's
too hard to figure out what stroke and fill are when items are
moving
around (especially given the small size), so the intended effect is
not
achieved and it actually gets harder to figure out the paint order.
