Found this script in the current developer's instructions:

Have not tried it yet.  It lists Fedora but not any of the RHEL variants.  Also, under Fedora poppler is not explicitly called out as a dependency, and from the first link, building poppler was a problem.  Does the Fedora build not use poppler, or does it come in automatically from one of the other dnf commands?

For Centos 8.3 (or maybe it was 8.2) "dnf install poppler-devel" worked, but for almalinux 8.6 it does not, failing with a:

   No match for argument: poppler-devel
