As a whole - this mock-up is an improvement of actual situation. The ideal situation is to have a panel with both Shape and Line color modes view ..in the same time.
simple testcase : many shapes in few. each shape and each corresponding line must change the gradient fill.
A : with actual panel this task will take long because of tab switching
B : with actual Oliver mock-up we can eliminate a click or two (for tab and color mode) so we can earn some seconds.
C : with an ideal panel which will let us to have a look(and change values) at both fill types/ color values of Lines and Shapes in the sametime whitout a mouse click to switch from shape to line mode - probably that task will be accomplished in the shortest time.
... I will vote for C in future ..now I vote for B solution ..C still need a good solution regarding the + space that C version will need.

Hi,
At the risk of starting a holy war... :)
A blueprint by Oliver Jan Krylow:

We have a bunch a blueprint in the queue. Would be nice to go through them and at least comment in a sensible way so that there was feedback.
