Zooming : Plus and Minus Keys
Instead of holding down the Ctrl key and pressing + or - to zoom the canvas, in Inkscape the artist simply presses the + or - key to zoom.
Can Ctrl++ and Ctrl+- be made to work also?
No, they're occupied by boolean ops
Right, sorry now that you mention it is all too familiar.
This would be benefit to Gnome users too, the Gnome HIG currently recommends
Zoom out Ctrl+ - Zoom in Ctrl+ +
HIG is written for general applications. In a drawing app, zooming is infinitely more common operation which therefore more than deserves a single-key shortcut.
I was very clear to say I wasn't advocating removing the keybinding but adding another combination. I'll have to take a closer look at InkView where this idea might actually be approriate.
Thanks.
