your machine or that you are ready to build it yourself? The later

You really do not need to be a programmer to build Inkscape, you just  
need some hard drive space, a little spare time and the will to  
follow the directions we can give you. Would you care trying?

By the way, I am no programmer at all either and I am building  
Inkscape from time to time. That's really easy.
