Also note that spalah-swf has at least two dependencies not needed for the rest of inkscape, namely libart-2.0 and ming (http://ming.sourceforge.net/). Ming isn't yet in many (any?) distributions, in part because of its lack of maturity (e.g. the most recent release (8 months old) fails to compile out of the box). If we added spalah-swf to inkscape sources, then presumably we'd also want to add [a working version of] ming.
