I see these mentioned in the release notes, but with no elaboration... This is also the first I've heard of them.
I wrote about these a couple times, but here you go: These are Perl scripts by Ben Crowell. They are very useful. They must be in the distribution, if not already. Even if they are not available via the GUI.
