This sounds like a good idea. Does anyone else have comments on this? If not, let's plan on having the announcements go out this weekend. Monday morning seems like a good time to be on Freshmeat.
I think the extra time will also help in completing the full set of packaging, and getting some package testing in too.

I propose that we should put our OFFICIAL RELEASE off till SUNDAY NIGHT/MONDAY MORNING, so that we avoid any crossover with SODIPODI. This won't hold up any development, but will help us further differentiate ourselves from SODI's release today.
It really doesn't matter who comes out with what first, but really how the program works and how well user's like it.
Do you all agree with this delay in publishing the announcement? It won't hold up development at all, but just delay PR.
Also, I wonder if we should have a look at the SODIPODI codebase and co-opt any new code that might be valuable.
I think competition is very good for both projects, honestly, but is something to wrestle with in terms of release dates.
