Dear David,

I cannot say much about the compiler warnings as I don't know the code which is causing it. May be someone can have a look at it. However, I have build Inkscape several times on Windows lately and it ran fine..

It should not really make a difference which version of CMake you are using as long as it's fairly recent, say 3.X. If you experience any trouble when generating the Makefiles, try the latest version.

Another thing: The build output of btool and CMake is not identical. CMake builds inkscape.exe and inkview.exe linked against a common library, named libinkscape_base. This conserves diskspace and is needed if you want to run native C++ extensions.

All the best,

~Sebastian

Hi all,

I have not built Inkscape on Windows in a while, so today updated
devlibs and Inkscape, tossed the build directory, and ran btool.  It is
running along OK
at the moment, but several of these have gone by:

STDERR:
In file included from
c:\progs\devlibs63/include/boost/ptr_container/ptr_map_adapter.hpp:19:0,
                  from
c:\progs\devlibs63/include/boost/ptr_container/ptr_map.hpp:20,
                  from src/ui/tools/node-tool.h:14,
                  from src/selection-chemistry.cpp:117:
c:\progs\devlibs63/include/boost/ptr_container/detail/map_iterator.hpp:52:48:
warning: type qualifiers ignored on function return type
[-Wignored-qualifiers]

What is causing these?  Is this something being picky, or a real
problem?

Also, the Windows build page now says that cmake is the tool of choice
and that btool is deprecated.  Does it make any difference which version
of cmake is used?

Thanks,

David Mathog
