For some reason the templates listed in the new menu are not in alphabetical order on my system (inkscape 0.45 / ubuntu feisty) also they are given rather obscure names with underscores.
If they were listed alphabetically and given more human sounding names "Default page (in points)" rather than "default_pt" that would be great, although I think copying the gimps new dialog box would be a much better way of doing this (they have pretty icons in their menu too :) ).
