Hi all,
I am working on packaging issues for getting alpha put together. (Nothing major, just a couple errors in the dist scripts.)
Please avoid any code changes from now until tomorrow. If you have a critical (and well-tested) bugfix it might be ok, but just check with me first before landing it.
Translations, packaging work, and other non-code changes you know are 100% safe and correct, are ok to land for the next 24 hrs, but I plan to cut the branch at that point.
Any other questions or concerns, just drop me an email or catch me on irc or rocketchat.
Thanks, Bryce
Not a question specific to alpha, and not specific to Bryce, but poppler-0.73 has apparently caused further changes, so ...
For the longer term, does anyone have any plans for the poppler dependency ? Upstream seems to have switched to "break all users of the unstable interfaces as often as possible" mode. I've seen in the past that by the time my distro (Beyond LinuxFromScratch) cares about this, there is already a fix in master - but the churn is at best annoying.
I see that (maybe only parts of) TeXLive hope to be using a new program for their limited need to read/parse PDFs when their 2019 release comes around.
