My name is Mikalaj Parafeniuk. I'm a third-year computer science student of Belarussian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics and I am rather confident with C++. I am interested in applying to google summer of code with project, which can be found here: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/inkscape/+spec/designing-svg-fonts-using-styles. But I have a set of questions:

1) Is the idea still actual and what priority does it has?

2) The proposed idea is rather raw, could someone give me more details?

3) Could you give me some starting points? I'm going to checkout inkscape sources. To what part of code should i pay attention?
