Oh, yes, you are correct. It should be a pencil, not a brush.
Well, actually Pen and Pencil are quite alike things in comparison to, say, Pencil and Brush :)
IMHO, it's not a good idea to have settings for things that are explicitely not mentioned anywhere else in GUI. We have "Draw freehand lines", "Darw Bezier curves and straight lines" and "Draw calligraphic lines". And the instrument on those icons is always the same -- a pencil with an eraser on the other side -- no Pen and no Brush. This is quite confusing to my mind.
