[Inkscape-devel] SVG filter effects and Batik source code

The support for all SVG filters (Filter Effects) is very good in Batik (http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/batik/). Since the source code is available, would it be a good idea just to take that code and adapt it?? BTW, an old SVG editor such as Graffiti also supports the filters.
