The log appears to be incomplete - at least it doesn't show the actual error.

I do strongly believe the problem comes from changes in poppler, as I can no longer compile older revisions, that I have compiled before.

Known issue (fails to compile with latest poppler 0.26) is tracked in https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1315142
