Hi all,
JF sent me this and I couldn't resist posting it here: http://math.univ-lille1.fr/~barraud/Inkscape/effectPreview.svg
I especially like the sketch effect!
Sweet. How is the celtic knot one done?
Bryce
For now, the knot effect replaces all the 'flat' crossings of the input path by 'positive' ones (i.e. one strand on top of the other, and when you go from bottom to top, the direction of the strands turns in the positive direction). It is still quiet buggy however, and keep crashing unexpectedly.
One issue about this effect is the UI: the user should be able to choose which crossings are positive, which are negative...
The easiest way seems to have a string parameter like "++-+-" giving the sign of the crossings in the order they appear on the path... but I am still looking for better ideas!
As for the sketch effect, it depends on many choices that will always be improvable: releasing it without freezing it will be a real challenge!...
JF.
