I was working on the Actions/Verbs stuff for the modules and learning about the implementation in Inkscape. So, as I was doing this I was writing documentation in the Doxygen format for the functions where I figured out what they do.
This made me think: wow, this would be a good way for someone to help out who wants to get more familiar with the code base. No seriously, you don't have to learn how absolutely everything works to write some good descriptions of functions. Probably starting in one of the subdirectories would be best (most of the time these aren't heavily dependent on things outside of them) and writing the Doxygen headers.
Doxygen is pretty easy. You can do all kinds of fancy stuff with it, but I'd just like to see descriptions of the functions and the parameters - which doesn't take that much knowledge of Doxygen either.
I don't know if anyone is interested, but I'd love to see patches with this info in them.
