"I'm not aware of anything that has changed recently that would cause
this to happen. However this seems like a classic sign of varnish
getting in the way of logins. If that were the case then it would have
been doing this for a long time.

I've restarted varnish to see if it helps but long term we may need to
adjust the varnish rules to get logins to work properly."
