Thanks for that Joshua, I am never sure what qualifies as user and what is dev. As I added in the user list, the main problem I have with this is the inability to accurately position guides with the pen so a workaround would be an alternative way to open the settings window for the guides or to have the xml display the value in the same format as the page (mm, in, px etc) which it doesn't seem to do now. I could work with either way and that is the only thing I use the mouse for at the moment.
Microugly - Bulya said that the gtk version is an included library and as we are both using ready made builds rather than home compiled there should be no difference there. Do you still have the Sept 30 build available? The oldest on the site is from October and I wanted to make sure the problem is my end so I would like to try that version.
Bulya - are there any circumstances where a locally installed version of gtk overrides the Inkscape supplied version? I have installed gtk to build Inkscape in the past so that may be a cause there. The fact that it works for other people would suggest that gtk is not the sole cause of this problem. I also have the same problem with Gimp but that would not use the same version of gtk as Inkscape so I am not sure of the connection there.
I am quite willing to try whatever anyone can suggest to fix this but I am not a programmer so I need direction :-)
Thanks,
Tony

I just wanted to point out this must be an exception rather than the rule, as my Wacom Intuos3 and mouse is working fine with build 30 Sept.

Has anyone else come across this and if so, what can I do to fix it? It's great having the pen but I can't double-click guides with the pen

there are times that the mouse is useful.
Tiresome, isn't it?
Myself and at least one other user have reported this problem, but have had no responses from the gurus. I guess it's a 'feature' of Inkscape!
