Yes, Linux Libertine is very close to Calluna (especially the "C" glyph). Additional benefit of this font set is it includes a set of keyboard glyphs which will be very useful for the tutorials.

If we would like to keep the original font appearance, I don't think this needs a community vote. This is also going in my personal 50 essential open fonts list, so thanks Gez, for the tip! :)
The only /slight/ issue is that the kerning needs a bit of work. Fortunately, since it's an open font, we can fix it. :)
All in favour of making Linux Libertine the official Inkscape font in place of the proprietary Calluna Regular?

Calluna Regular, which is currently in use on the website is a commercial font. While it's true that the regular version is offered under a free license, it is not offered under an OFL license, and what's a bit worse, is not licensed at all for use in documents, etc. (only desktop/web, and some sites want to sell a web license for it, which is worrying).
So... heh.
Anyone want me to work on finding alternatives for that one too? We pretty much need to.
What do you think about Linux Libertine? It's also a serif typeface and it has the right type of license for this project.
I support this choice. Linux Libertine has a very good coverage of accented Latin letters. This may not be a very big deal for the "Draw Freely" font but becomes very important on the website, which is multilingual.
