I just followed the compiling instructions at http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/CompilingUbuntu on a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS and I had to install the package "autopoint", which is not listed on that wiki page, to get the autogen.sh script working.

Anyone running Ubuntu Raring that can confirm that it's the same for later releases than 12.04?
