No, because it's not a state, it's a command. You may have both clipped and not clipped things in selection, in which case the checkbox makes little sense. If you want to find out if the selected object is clipped, look into the statusbar.
Btw, is there a remarkable difference between a clip and a clipping path? I just git used to the second term and it seems to be used in many other applications.
Clip is a verb; clipping path is a noun. We use both as appropriate.
