I looked into hiding this thing today, with no luck. If anyone finds a way to do it, please let me know. I see no purpose for the bookmarks stuff.
Well, actually it may be useful, I already found myself using it (to my own surprise :)
It's only that it's too big and intimidating to be on by default. An expander would be ideal.
