Hello everybody,
during the preparation of my application for Summer of Code, I already experienced the great feedback from Inkscape's vivid community. Thanks to all who shared their thoughts!
With the official start of SoC rapidly approaching, I would now like to invite everyone who is interested to collect their ideas on the project's Wiki page, which can be found at
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/GSOC2007_3D_box_tool
I only created a skeleton page. Please feel free to extend it as you wish. It is intended to be taken over by the community and to serve as a kind of 'market place' where people can share their ideas. Of course you are free to use the mailing list, too. But I considered it convenient to have a central location where all the information is collected.
I do not make any promises as to which proposals are actually feasible and will be implemented. But I'm grateful for any suggestions, and any feedback is certainly very helpful to find out what you as users expect from such a tool and how it can be made to help you most in your everyday work.
Regarding the latter point, I'd also be interested in what you will be using this tool for (if at all) so as to get an idea which features I should focus on as soon as I (hopefully) get beyond the minimal implementation. For this kind of info maybe the mailing list is an appropriate place, but you can of course als add this to the Wiki.
Looking forward from hearing to you. Thanks, Max
