While at all this, wouldn't it be nice to have, at least, an option to make snapping preferences inkscape specific, rather than document specific? I've lost hours and hours on clicking at not-that-small amount buttons.
If the majority of users feels the same about this issue, then I'm perfectly happy with that and will change that. Personally however, I prefer things the way they currently are. I believe that some snap settings are user-specific (e.g. how much snap-delay one prefers, or whether one only wants to snap the snap source closest to the pointer), while other settings are more document-specific (In one document one might only use bounding-box or path snapping, whereas in another document one might only use grid or guide snapping).
Time for a poll maybe? In favor: Vladimir Against: Diederik
Probably what would fix Vlada's and my annoyance here, is that Vlada and I should save our snap preferences to default.svg...? I think it is ok to have them per document basis. As long as the default new document template is somewhat what I expect. Right, Vlada?

Hmmm... Your suggestion is more reasonable than my approach. Thanks for reminding me that default.svg is an option. :) Too bad it's not that obvious. Had to browse through inkscape.org in order to find where should I put that file in. ;)
