Yeah, I've been in communication with JIMMAC and he is aware of Inkscape's upgrades, but still holds to Illi'strator...
I even asked him for feedback on what he thinks we need for him to use it...no reply yet...
Honestly, the main thing illustrator has at this point is much better type, better import/export, text in shape and layers. We have those...we are hyper-golden! Did anyone contact osnews to fix to inkscape...i will...

I'm a bit confused at Jimmac's comment, that, "I'm hoping to write a simple functional spec for path editing, since at least Inkscape developers seem to be interested in making their app be a graphic tool, not an SVG editor aiming to implement all of the standard."
My guess is that he is aware of our attempts to make Inkscape usable - that is reflected in the "making their app a graphic tool" part, because a graphic tool is what he's interested in too. But he's probably not too interested in SVG as such, and perhaps when he tried Sodipodi and found it unusable, he ascribed that to its intention to focus on SVG too much, instead of the real reason (the neglect of usability by the Sodipodi author).
