Not sure where best to highlight these things, but will try and make some time add suitable comments in the Wiki.
Anyone interested in helping review Inkscape should probably keep in touch with the developers on irc.freenode.net #inkscape so as not to get up to speed and get a chance to look at things that have not been considered yet.
Inkscape's Jabber channel seems to be a more usual place for discussions.
