It would be particularly handy to be able to "lock" the length [or other properties] of a segment [vector between nodes].
I envision that if a segment's length were locked, then the movement of one end node would result in a circular motion. This would be very, very handy for constructing precision geometric shapes.
I can also see how the ability to lock the angle defined by two nodes would be handy as well. The movement of one end node in this circumstance would result in "sliding" the node along a precision vector, allowing the expansion in length of a segment without altering it's angle.
In other news... still hoping for one day: Text along a path, and Text defined by box [meaning the box is resized and the text's breaks are automatically redefined to fit].
No complaints, though! I use sodipodi for a tremendous amount of things nowadays!
