This one is the best of the three. The actual code may require some tweaking (e.g. for dealing with different display sizes), but the fundamental design is good.
I agree with Mental. Of the 3 that we have, this one is the least bad. But it's too boxy and cramped, I would like to see it simplified and made less noisy. Also:
- the tag line is not anywhere
- the translations links may be more prominent
- the "INKSCAPE" font is different from our standard
- the second semi-transparent mountain under the logo looks very unconvincing
- the design becomes partially unreadable when I make the font size too big (this is a problem with many sites, but still)
http://ciberirmandade.org/gatonegro/var/inkweb/ - this one has nice aspects (I like b/w), but overstretching the mountain looks too artificial, and cramping it all into a small scrolled box is very bad usability.
http://www.deviantart.com/view/22467478/ - this one I don't like at all.
With this in mind, I would like to propose to prolong the contest to see more entries. Also I think we should lower the barrier of entry by only requiring a mock-up image, not a complete HTML page, as the first stage. I think this will motivate more people to participate, because the complete HTML/CSS coding, without knowing for sure that your design will be used, is a big hassle.
